Check out the hottest AV receivers Marantz has to offer now!
With the Marantz NR 1501, you’ll get a svelte, competent performer with the features and flexibility you need, but without the hulking size you don’t. Marantz’s NR1501 answers your needs for both decor-friendly size and superb performance. That’s because the NR1501 contains everything you need in a chassis that fits comfortably on a normal shelf or in a standard cabinet. It’s just a bit exceeding 4″ high and 13″ deep so there’s plenty of room for the cables you’ll need to connect it to your flat-screen TV, a Blu-ray player, cable box, your selected game console, a surround speaker system, and more. This is a 7-channel receiver. The watts per channel are only 50 which is slightly low, but remember this is a level entry receiver, and when you consider the common home speaker set up then actually 50 watts should be just above adequate to power them. Considering the target market this is looking to be a good unit, and we were pleased to see that the set up has been made convenient and sports automatic calibration.
The modern Marantz SR 5003 look keeps a solid metal middle face, but provides smooth, rounded glass-reinforced resin edges to the sides, producing the whole face more modern, while the clean and simple design keeps it all in line. This receiver is one of the cheapest on the market to handle all the brand new audio codecs, including Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio, with its three-to-one HDMI 1.3a switching, sending all that uncompressed audio through seven 90-watts-per-channel amplifiers to make any home theater even better. The inclusion of Audyssey MultiEQ room correction is a clever little piece of technology as it immediately senses and balances the speakers in any room. Given that this is an entry-level AV receiver, it provides great value for money.
